Quimet & Quimet is a standing-room-only tapas bar and bodega in Poble-sec, Barcelona, built for quick rounds, big flavors, and zero fuss. The vibe is electric—packed shoulder-to-shoulder at the counter, with floor-to-ceiling bottles behind the bar and a team that moves fast even when it’s slammed.
Come for the signature spread of gourmet conservas (tinned seafood that eats like luxury) and crisp montaditos stacked with whatever the kitchen is flexing that day. Let the staff steer—people who know the menu tend to leave happiest. Wash it down with their house vermouth, a glass of cava, or a punchy local beer, and lean into the lively Catalan bar rhythm where food lands fast and conversation stays loud.
WHY VISIT: high-quality bites, serious wine, and a real local bar scene without the theatrical tourist pricing. PRICE RANGE: expect moderate-to-pricy tapas depending on how deep you go on seafood and drinks. One practical detail: there’s a roughly 1-hour turnover, so it’s designed for a focused feast, not a long hang.
Insider tip: Show up 15 minutes before opening, grab a spot at the counter, and ask them to “keep bringing what you’d order.” For Barcelona bar food, this is the move—go early, eat hard, leave happy.

in the last weekWell, to be honest, there were two of us who went to this place because we wanted to try tapas from Barcelona and their craft beer 🍺. We actually had to wait about 40 minutes, since the place is quite popular, but it was definitely worth it. When we finally got in, the service was excellent , which is always appreciated because it makes the experience even more enjoyable. The best part was the tapas. My friend and I weren't quite sure what to order because it was our first time at a place like this, and we also wanted to film it 📹. So we followed the waiters' recommendations, and it was a total success. The tapas were 10/10, and the beer 🍺 was also very good and quite strong, especially for us since we don't usually drink alcohol. And something else that surprised us was the price: we spent about €30 between the two of us, which isn't bad at all, but of course that depends on what you order and how much you order 🤷🏻♂️. But speaking from our experience, we 100% recommend that you visit this amazing place 💯
