Dachstock is a concert venue and nightclub located at Neubrückstrasse 8 in Bern, inside the Reitschule complex. The vibe starts rough around the edges from the outside, then you step in and it flips—people come for the punchy concerts, a solid DJ, and that “why is this place so good?” energy.
Upstairs you’ll find a beautiful room with a warm, open wooden roof and a sound system that holds up across genres—from hard rock to funk without turning into noise. It’s the kind of place where the bass stays tight, vocals cut through, and the crowd actually listens between dancing. Expect a proper night out with live concerts, late sets, and DJ nights—plus drinks at the bar so you don’t have to break the flow.
Price-wise, the entrance can feel steep (think a typical club night rather than a cheap student bar), but you’re paying for quality sound and programming—not glossy tourist pricing. In other words: Bern night_club culture, minus the velvet-rope nonsense.
Insider tip: Don’t plan on filming—no photo or video recording. Go early for bigger shows to grab a good spot under the roof, then stay for the DJ if the night’s rolling.

2 weeks agoThis venue is deeply problematic and irresponsible. Behind a supposedly "anti-fascist" and far-left facade, this concert hall tolerates completely unacceptable practices. Cigarettes and cannabis are consumed freely, including by the management and staff, with absolutely no respect for non-smokers, the sick, asthmatics, or pregnant women. There is no consideration whatsoever for genuine inclusivity or public health. The atmosphere at the entrance and inside is extremely unhealthy. Visibly drug-addicted individuals and dealers loiter outside, soliciting money or openly selling narcotics. Even worse, they enter and exit the building freely, without any checks, to continue their activities inside the venue itself. Inside, the feeling of insecurity is constant. These individuals circulate among the audience, approaching intrusively, rubbing up against people, and making inappropriate remarks, particularly towards women, even resorting to sexual solicitation. The staff and management are clearly turning a blind eye to this behavior, which is absolutely outrageous. I am appalled that such a place can continue to operate with complete impunity. This is not a cultural space, but a dangerous, unsanitary place that condones illegal activities. I intend to report this situation to the relevant authorities and I sincerely hope that this place will be shut down before a serious incident occurs.

3 weeks agoI actually love this place – but: it's disgusting that smoking is tolerated there. I wish for more respect for the health of others and the protection of non-smokers – especially from a place that so prominently promotes all sorts of "no-smoking" ideals and where everyone should feel comfortable.
