Cerveseria Vaso de Oro is a lively tapas bar and cervecería in Barceloneta, Barcelona, built for standing-at-the-bar energy and super-fresh pours. Come for the fast, friendly service and the kind of staff who’ll steer you toward a smart mixed plate when you can’t choose.
Inside it’s small, packed, and buzzing—expect a shoulder-to-shoulder vibe where the action is right at the taps. Order the house-brewed beer in small glasses so you can try more than one, then match it with salty, satisfying bites. Regulars rave about the foie gras (rich, indulgent, and worth it) and the fried squid, plus simple grilled morsels that taste better with a cold beer in hand. This is Barcelona bar culture, not a sit-down production.
WHAT/WHY: a no-nonsense spot for beer + tapas. WHERE: Carrer de Balboa, 6 in Barceloneta. PRICE RANGE: fair for the quality—easy to share and keep the bill sensible. With thousands of visitors backing it, Cerveseria Vaso de Oro earns its hype without acting fancy.
Insider tip: Go early (or slightly off-peak), grab a place at the bar, and ask for a mixed plate—then finish with the foie gras. If you want a proper Barcelona tapas bar night, start here and keep it simple.

in the last weekA typical neighborhood bar where the waiters know their customers. I really liked it because it's small but cozy. We ordered five tinto de verano (red wine and lemonade) (€28) and tapas: four pinchos morunos (Moorish kebabs) that were amazing (€2.80 - €11.20), a portion of patatas bravas (€5) – be careful with the spice! – two croquettes (€2 - €4), one Manchego cheese croquette with almonds (€6.20) that I absolutely loved because it was so aged, one portion of dressed potatoes (€4.40) that I didn't find anything special, but my friend loved them, and some Jabugo chorizo (€5.70). In total, we paid €64.50 for two people. The waiters were lovely, you could tell they were super coordinated, and everything was spotless.

in the last weekI’ve tried a lot of restaurants in BCN but this one remain my favorite. Small but cozy with great food and authentic vibe. It gets very busy so know you might have to wait.
