Crotto Isidoro is a traditional mountain-style restaurant located in Stazzona, Lake Como, with a terrace view that honestly steals the show. You come for the panorama, stay for the warm, relaxing vibe—and the kind of friendly service that makes you feel at home fast.
Expect straightforward, satisfying local cooking done well: big, generous plates, a cozy “crotto” atmosphere, and staff who keep things easy and welcoming. People rave about the huge portions and the classic, no-fuss approach—this is comfort food, not tiny “art” portions. Finish strong with the house-style blueberry grappa and you’ll understand why folks leave happy (and full).
WHAT: rustic local eatery. WHERE: Via Vanzonico 14, Stazzona. WHY VISIT: that “wow” lake view plus hearty food. PRICE RANGE: around €29 menu per person can be enough for a full feast—great value compared to pricier lakeside spots that charge more and give less.
Insider tip: Go around sunset for the best light on the lake, and order the set menu—then save room (just a little) for the blueberry grappa. Book ahead and go hungry.

4 months agoA very friendly place. The cheese and charcuterie were incredible, as was the view from the restaurant. A very good experience that I would highly recommend. There is parking along the road, then it's a 3-minute walk. Reservations recommended.

4 months agoTOURIST TRAP It's been a long time since I've encountered such a dishonest restaurant, but it happens every now and then. We order a plate of polenta with pork chops/ribs/sausage each (on the menu, about 8-9 euros per plate) and only still water to drink (not bottled, but in a carafe). The waiter recommends two cold cuts and cheeses for five of us to share while we wait. Well, they charged us FIFTY-TWO euros for the appetizer while we wait. A rip-off. In the end, 30 euros each for a plate of polenta with a piece of meat, a fifth of an appetizer, still water, and a coffee. And then we complain that Italian businesses are closing down? If we rip off customers, that's a fair reward. Never again.
