Edi's Weinstube is a cozy wine bar located in Niederdorf, Zürich. Come for the intimate vibe, stay because the service is genuinely friendly (and yes, they’ll keep it light with a bit of humor), plus there’s often a small art exhibition on the walls.
Inside, it’s warm and close-knit—more like a local living room than a loud bar crawl stop. Order a glass of Swiss wine and settle in; it’s the kind of place where you can actually talk. If you’re peckish, pair your drink with a simple plate of cheese and you’re set for the evening. Even if you’re not drinking alcohol, they’ll happily sort you out with a soda and the little details done right.
WHY VISIT: relaxed, personal, and refreshingly unpretentious for old town. PRICE RANGE: expect it to feel fair—especially compared to the overpriced spots nearby. With 492+ customer ratings behind it, Edi’s Weinstube has earned its loyal crowd.
Insider tip: Go early for a quieter table, ask what’s open by the glass, and linger—this is one of those places that rewards slow sipping. If you want a no-fuss Zürich bar night, start here.

a month agoThis somewhat unconventional wine bar is one of the original establishments in the Niederdorf district. It dates back to the sexy 70s and is decorated accordingly. Some love it, others stay outside. I think places like this belong to the Niederdorf like water to a fountain. It's a shame it's closing soon 🥲 The bartender unfortunately didn't fit behind the bar at all and was very grumpy (just a snapshot?).
